With approximately 70% of American high school graduates enrolling in colleges and universities each year, a college degree has become an essential stepping stone to landing a great first job.
But when it to comes to your earning potential, not all degrees are created equal.
So which majors really pay the highest?
Through an analysis of hundreds of thousands of resumes and corresponding salary reports, Glassdoor has determined which majors pay the most during the first five years out of college. While STEM majors take most of the top spots, other majors can also pay you generously. Plus, for each major, we’ve identified three of the most popular jobs that new grads really take upon entering the real world.

The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club Miami Florida, Inc. offers two annual scholarships to graduating high school seniors of Dade, Broward and Monroe County schools. 

·           The scholarships will be awarded as follows: Two (2) one-time $1,500      scholarships for one male and one female of African American descent graduating from a Miami-Dade, Broward or Monroe County High School.

The following requirements must be completed to be considered for this scholarship.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

1.             Have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.0 or better on the transcript submitted at the time of application AND on the final transcript that will be requested.

Mandatory Requirements:

1.             Submit one (1) letter of recommendation with original signatures (letter may be from a school official, church or community leader).

2.                  Submit one (1) essay (Indicate essay number being submitted)

3.             School Involvement and Community Service
                                           
4.             Submit a completed, typed application postmarked by April 28, 2017 to:

5.             Attach to application a 4x6 headshot photograph with applicant’s full name 
      on the back of the photo.   
Awarded Scholarship Recipients:

  1. Provide proof of enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited college or                      
            university before the scholarship is awarded.

  1. Utilize the scholarship within one year of the notification of award or it will be
forfeited (please note: if extenuating circumstances occur, the Chapter must be      contacted immediately, but no later than one year after the notification of award.  The Chapter will make a final decision regarding the award.)

  1. Family members of any NABSTMS/BSMC/BTMC member are excluded from  
      applying and are ineligible. 

  1. Selected candidates will be submitted to participate for our National    
                  Scholarship Program at which time information will be provided.


INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS OR APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THE DEADLINE OF April 28, 2017 WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP – Annual Scholarship Contest

The Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP Scholarship Program is designed to help high school students (upon graduation from high school) or college students who are interested in attending an institution of higher education. We value education as a vital foundation for creating fulfilling, advantageous careers. We are proud and excited to help students achieve their goals of furthering their education.

ELIGIBILITY – Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent U.S. resident.
  • Be accepted to an institution of higher learning.
  • Be graduating high school or receiving GED within 9 months.
  • Scholarship program available to students entering their first year of undergrad only.
  • Employees of the Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP, Consultwebs.com, Inc., their boards of directors and immediate family members are not eligible for this essay contest.

REQUIREMENTS:

The following documents must be provided for consideration (.doc, .docx, or .pdf format only) to the attention of Richard Jaffe via email only to Scholarship@cohenjaffe.com .
  • An official copy of a current academic transcript.
  • Proof of legal residency in U.S. (i.e. birth certificate, passport, driver’s license, permanent resident card, etc.).
  • Proof of acceptance to an institution of higher learning. Should a winner be chosen that is still waiting on an acceptance letter, candidate will have until June 15th to provide proof of acceptance before forfeiting the prize.
  • A one-page essay of no less than 500 and no more than 750 words on one of the following topics:
  • 1.At the Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, LLP, we truly value being able to help others after they have been injured whether it be due to personal injury or medical malpractice. Describe a time you drastically impacted someone else and improved their life.
2.Whether it be from a critical error made during a procedure, or not paying attention, there are a number of reasons why patients are harmed or injured at medical facilities every day in the U.S. At the Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe, we fight for justice when someone is harmed. Considering your research, what guidelines would you develop to ensure safety precautions are adhered to at medical facilities? What needs to be changed to protect patients? Tell us your ideas.

There are two prizes available- first place will be awarded $1,000, second place awarded $500, and three honorable mentions available at $250 each. For this contest students most compose an essay of no less than 500 words and no more than 750 words. There are two topics that applicants can write about:

1. Describe a time you drastically impacted someone else and improved their life.
2. What guidelines would you develop to ensure safety precautions are adhered to at medical facilities? What needs to be changed to protect patients?

The contest is open now and the deadline is April 3, 2017.
