Engineering majors aren’t just good at math; they love to build and must understand the real applications of the math in whatever they build. If you tinker with cars, make the jump to designing them. Top Engineering schools require students to take and do well in algebra, geometry, and physics as a starting place.  If you love machines, learn what actually makes them run.

The Princeton Prize in Race Relations

In order to apply for the Princeton Prize, the candidate must currently be enrolled in grades 9-12.

It's time again to begin our search for the next South Florida highschool student working to break down racial and ethnic barriers in our community.

Thanks to Miami-Dade Schools Director of Student Services Sharon Krantz, I had the opportunity to speak to many of you last week, and I'm writing to you all now because highschool counselors and advisors are our best resource for reaching eligible students.

The Princeton Prize is an award given to high school aged students whose efforts have had a significant positive effect on race or ethnic relations in their schools or communities.  It is awarded in South Florida by the Princeton Club of South Florida in conjunction with Miami-Dade and Broward Schools and the Miami-Dade County Community Relations Board.

Princeton Prize recipients are invited to the Princeton University campus to participate in a national symposium on race relations in America.

Management information system (MIS) focuses on the management of information systems to provide efficiency and effectiveness of strategic decision making. The concept may include systems termed transaction processing system, decision support system, expert system, or executive information system. The term is often used in the academic study of businesses and has connections with other areas, such as information systems, information technology, informatics, e-commerce and computer science; as a result, the term is used interchangeably with some of these areas. Management information systems (plural) as an academic discipline studies people, technology, organizations, and the relationships among them.[1] This definition relates specifically to "MIS" as a course of study in business schools.

Pre-Medicine

When it comes to higher education, the medical field can go in many directions. Pre-Medical ("pre-med") gives students the context and training to go on to full fledged Doctors, Dentists, Pharmacists and much more. The medical road is tough - but highly lucrative and rewarding. As with other fields, many colleges specialize in “Pre-Medical” tracks. Look for schools who have highly developed tracks that are specifically designed with the end goal of medical school and becoming a doctor in mind.

K. Hunter Goff Elder Law Scholarship

My name is Taylor and I'm working with the Law Office of K. Hunter Goff in Orlando, Florida. I previously sent an email to your school about Attorney Goff's Bankruptcy/Consumer Rights Scholarship in September. We have already had an amazing response from your students and other schools across the state.

With how many students are applying to the scholarship, we wanted to offer another, completely separate scholarship that your students can apply to. We are pleased to announce the K. Hunter Goff Elder Law Scholarship. It is now available for your students to apply to it right away, so if you would also be willing to spread the word about this opportunity, we would be very grateful.

Criteria: Applicant must be attending college by Fall 2017 and have at least a 3.0 GPA. They must be interested pursuing a law-related degree.

Deadline: July 31, 2017

Award Amount: $500
