Scholarship
The Haitian American Leadership Organization (“HALO”) is pleased
to announce that it is now accepting applications for its 2017 scholarship
awards. Every year HALO awards financial assistance to students of
Haitian descent who desire to pursue postsecondary education, demonstrate a
financial need and live within the tri-county area (Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm
Beach).
Each applicant is eligible to receive up to $1,000.00 annually as
well as complimentary tickets to attend HALO’s annual gala and award ceremony.
The eligibility criteria are as followed: the student must
be a High School senior, of Haitian descent and in good academic
standing. In addition, the student must submit an official transcript,
two (2) letters of recommendation and a 300-500 word personal statement
describing involvement in the community, financial need for the award, as well
as the reasons why the student is deserving of this award.
The completed application and all documentation shall be emailed
to halohaitiorganization@gmail.com
or mailed to the address listed below and postmarked no later than January 03,
2017.
