2016 PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIPS TO WORK IN MEDIA/Miami, FL
As you know we are working with Discovery Communications’ “Say Yes to the Prom Program” (Hilliary Turnipseed) and specifically looking for students of color who are incoming college freshmen (High School seniors) from the Miami, Florida area and would like to intern this summer in Sales, Advertising, Digital Media OR Communications.  Our interns are paid and earn a matching funds scholarship to help pay for college expenses.   I have attached our recruitment poster.
For the past 27 years our mission has been to create career opportunities in the media industry for students of color through programs that focus on scholastic achievement, direct work experience and professional development.  Together with almost 50 corporate sponsors, the Foundation currently supports more than 200 students each year through a multi-year internship program for students of color to work at media companies across the country. 
Applicants must  have at least a 3.0 GPA and attend a 4-Year college.  Our priority deadline is Tuesday, March 1st   however, we will extend to March 8th for your applicants.

Requirements
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
·         Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent U.S. resident.
·         Be accepted to an institution of higher learning.
·         A high school senior (who is 18+ or has parent written consent), or college student (2 year tech, or 4 year university, colleges, undergraduates).
Employees of Holliday Karatinos Law Firm, PLLC, Consultwebs.com, Inc., their boards of directors and immediate family members are not eligible for this essay contest.
ESSAY
The following documents must be provided for consideration (.doc, .docx, or .pdf format only) to the attention of Hannah E. Holliday via email only to hannahholliday@helpinginjuredpeople.com.
·         An official copy of a current academic transcript.
·         Proof of legal residency in U.S. (i.e. birth certificate, passport, driver’s license, permanent resident card, etc.).
·         Proof of acceptance to an institution of higher learning.
·         Submit a digital photo (.jpg) of yourself.
·         A one-page essay of no less than 600 words with the focus on: PERSONAL INJURY – CONCUSSIONS IN SPORTS

Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program

Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program



The application for the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program is now open! Rising Junior and Senior girls can apply to join the Summer Immersion Program, which will be held in locations across South Florida this year, and hosted by The Knight Foundation. 
Girls Who Code is a national nonprofit organization working to close the gender gap in technology and engineering sectors.  The Summer Immersion Program offers a seven week introduction course to computer science and coding, paired with engaging, career-focused mentorship and exposure led by the industry’s top female entrepreneurs and engineers.  


The program is free and no computer science experience is needed. Need based scholarships are available and all equipment will be provided to students.

The King of Clubs Greater Miami, Incorporated is a philanthropic, volunteer orientated organization.  We are one of the oldest social clubs in Miami, FL. and every year we give out three (3) scholarships in the amount of 1,000, per person, to African-American graduating seniors in the Miami-Dade Public School System.
