JAMDE Scholarship award

The Jamaican Association of Miami-Dade Educators (JAMDE) is a service and professional organization. One of its goals is to foster educational excellence by involving students, and recognizing outstanding scholars. JAMDE awards scholarships annually to qualified graduating seniors.

Each scholarship winner will receive monetary incentive of one thousand dollars at our Annual Banquet. This year’s banquet will be held on Saturday, May 6.  This year, we are offering two Outstanding Scholars Award scholarships to students who have excelled academically. Applicants must be Jamaicans, or of Jamaican parent (s).

A third scholarship- Humanitarian Award, will be presented to any student (non-Jamaican) who has excelled academically. More importantly, this student should show financial need for such  award, and document such need. Additionally, the Humanitarian Award will be available to all graduating seniors in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

All applicants should submit transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and provide evidence of community services.

Kindly inform all qualifying students of these scholarships.

Sincerely,

Maureen Lewars
