The Princeton Prize in Race Relations
In order to apply for the Princeton
Prize, the candidate must currently be enrolled in grades 9-12.
It's
time again to begin our search for the next South Florida highschool student
working to break down racial and ethnic barriers in our community.
Thanks
to Miami-Dade Schools Director of Student Services Sharon Krantz, I had the
opportunity to speak to many of you last week, and I'm writing to you all now
because highschool counselors and advisors are our best resource for reaching
eligible students.
The Princeton Prize is an award given
to high school aged students whose efforts have had a significant positive
effect on race or ethnic relations in their schools or communities. It is
awarded in South Florida by the Princeton Club of South Florida in conjunction
with Miami-Dade and Broward Schools and the Miami-Dade County Community
Relations Board.
All the information you and your
students will need about the Princeton Prize is available at:
Princeton Prize recipients are invited
to the Princeton University campus to participate in a national symposium on
race relations in America.
Now, more than ever, help us recognize
your students who are building bridges over the divides in our community.

South Florida Princeton Prize in Race
Relations Committee
