Recreation & Tourism Management

Recreation & Tourism Management

As a Recreation & Tourism Management major in college, you will learn the very real business behind "Leisure" or "Recreation". In the United States alone, there are literally thousands of Local, State, National and "Theme" parks and venues. All must be well maintained, made profitable, and accessible to all. Kayaking, Whitewater Rafting, Mountain Biking, Zip Lining, Flag Football, Softball, Tennis and even Disc Golf are all done in organized settings.

Athletic Training

Athletic Training
Athletic training combines the love of sports medicine as well as the science of exercise. The study of athletic training can lead to a career as a certified athletic trainer. Athletic training is not the same thing as personal training. Certified athletic trainers work in universities, high schools, professional sports, clinics, hospitals, performing arts, the military and other settings. The majority of certified athletic trainers go on to pursue a graduate degree.

Human Resource Management

Human Resource Management

Human resources are the people who make up the workforce of an organization, business sector, or economy. "Human capital" is sometimes used synchronously with "human resources", although human capital typically refers to a more narrow view (i.e., the knowledge the individuals embody and economic growth). Likewise, other terms sometimes used include "manpower", "talent", "labour", "personnel", or simply "people".

Engineering

Engineering

An engineering degree is the amazing discipline behind all the cars, bridges, robotic arms, airplanes, large machinery, waste treatment plants and almost everything you see that moves or processes. Engineering majors aren’t just good at math; they love to build and must understand the real applications of the math in whatever they build. If you tinker with cars, make the jump to designing them. Top Engineering schools require students to take and do well in algebra, geometry, and physics as a starting place.  If you love machines, learn what actually makes them run.

Pre-Medicine

Pre-Medicine

When it comes to higher education, the medical field can go in many directions. Pre-Medical ("pre-med") gives students the context and training to go on to full fledged Doctors, Dentists, Pharmacists and much more. The medical road is tough - but highly lucrative and rewarding. As with other fields, many colleges specialize in “Pre-Medical” tracks. Look for schools who have highly developed tracks that are specifically designed with the end goal of medical school and becoming a doctor in mind.
